New York City...

New York is unlike any place I have ever been...

The city is fast paced, fashionable and full of life just like you see in the movies...

The Sights...

Fortunately I got a killer deal on our hotel located in Times Square Manhattan so we walked almost everywhere...

***We lucked out and got a corner king room with amazing city views on 2 sides***

The Late Show was only a few blocks from our hotel...

We explored...

***Grand Central Station***

Explored...

***Times Square - Theater District***

And explored...

***Rockefeller Center - Ice Skating seems to be very popular here***

***View from the top of the Empire State Building***

And explored the city some more until our feet hurt...

***Wall Street - Financial District***

***The New York Stock Exchange***

We found ourselves right outside the courthouse where reporters anticipated to see Bernard Madoff charged for Fraud...

***Check out this drawing - As seen on TV***

We took a cruise around the entire peninsula...

***View of the Brooklyn Bridge right next to our boat***

***The Statue of Liberty***

Waiting for the subway...

Visited Ground Zero...

***The FDNY 10 Fire House - right across the street from the site***

***Across from ground zero is an old church -
now used as an memorial as this was the resting place for the rescue team on 9/11***

***We left with a heavy hearts to say the least - too real for words!***

We went to Central park several times as we couldn't get enough of it- (it has such a unique vibe)...

*** I have always wanted to tour Central Park in a carriage ***

***There were carriages waiting for tourists like us - the Lady selected this one***

***This is the view of how big central park is from my Mom and Sister's hotel room***

The Food...

On almost every corner there is a hot dog stand...

We went to Little Italy for an authentic lunch...

***Little Italy was right next to China Town***

The Carnegie Delicatessen had pictures of celebrities plastered all over the walls...

***Typical NY establishment packed with people & every inch utilized***

***They are known for their large portions -
we split their signature corned beef sandwich***

On Friday night Trevor and I went Benjamin Steak House - according the our concierge the "best New York steak in town"...

The Fashion...

We walked 5th Avenue and couldn't resist going into Saks on 5th Ave...

***This is the "Lady" next to the FUR SALON -
only in NY will you find almost an entire floor filled will fur***

***The 10th floor was dedicated to shoes...

...and had it's own chocolate cafe - a typical woman's paradise***

Walking the streets of NY I found myself perplexed that people really wear those clothes you see on the runway...

Scarves in this city are not only an accessory they are also a necessity - during this time of year it was COLD...

The Entertainment...

We went to a couple Broadway Shows...

***West Side Story***

My younger brother and sister (high school choir) was invited to sing with composer Whitacre at the Lincoln Center - which was our excuse to go to New York in the first place...

***Click here to read about their fabulous performance!***

Now I understand why people from all over the world are drawn to New York City...

NYC is addicting!

***Thank you***

Laura & Jake for giving us a reason to go to NYC...
Jen for being our tour guide/GPS...
and the Lady for being our travel agent with all the super deals!
